About Us

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a professional organization for registered professional nurses and student nurses (male and female) representing many cultures and diverse ethnic backgrounds. More than 8000 Registered Nurses and Student Nurses hold membership in Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.  

 

Chi Eta Phi Sorority was founded in 1932 at Freemen's Hospital, School of Nursing, Washington, D.C.

 

There are over 83 graduate chapters and 39 undergraduate chapters located in 26 states, District of Columbia and  St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Membership is by invitation and is both active and honorary.

 

The vision of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated is an internationally recognized leader in the provision of health education, leadership development, and service to the community.

 

The mission of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated is to provide service for humanity, elevate the plane of nursing and to increase interest in the nursing profession. This mission is accomplished through the:

 

  • Encouragement of the pursuit of continuing education;

  • Recruitment programs for health careers;

  • Stimulation of a close and friendly relationship among members;

  • Development of working relationships with other professional groups and the identification of a core of nursing leaders who affect social changes at the national, regional and local levels
